8/22/2004: Site Policy
This blog has been set up because it seems to be a good time to do so. It is a loose connection of advocates who believe that people who share a common interest can use a common space to speak up, speak out, and speak to each other. Participants believe that providing this blog for that dialogue will help readers interact and make informed decisions about gambling and it’s intended issues. Gambling Watch Global has also been set up as an information clearinghouse for researchers, media, addiction counsellors, government, advocates and consumers.
It will take time to add over 20 thousand studies to this site, but that is one of the goals. The Administrator is an individual in Canada with a bit of time of their hands and a desire to help people communicate. I am not an anti-gambling advocate, and I am not affiliated with any for-profit, not-for-profit, charitable, government or religious organization or institution.

No advertising will be accepted or adopted at this blog. Gambling Watch Global uses a Creative Commons Licence. Posters at gamblingwatchglobal.com have complete flexibility to put up information and opinion when they want to. Many will be researchers, academics and anti-gambling and addiction experts. Some won’t be. Posters are the heart and soul of this blog, and are smarter than admin, so use the comments section to dialogue with them. If you would like to put up a guest post, drop us a line.
This is a cross-cultural, international group blog. Please remember that gambling and addiction issues are approached differently by different people. (academic, religious, moral, economic, social, personal, political) Diversity is expected and will be respected.
We have one ‘rule’ for anyone using the comment sections or eventual forums.
- Swearing, threats, verbal abuse and disrespect will not be tolerated. No one is getting paid to take abuse.
- One warning will be issued by Admin. It will be your choice to respect yourself and others and cool down. If you chose not to, you will be blocked from this blog.
